Caplin Point Meenakshi CSR Trust (registered with Ministry of Corporate Affairs – hereinafter referred to as “the Trust”) was established for the purpose of carrying out CSR activities approved on project basis by the CSR Committee of Caplin Point. The Trust was constituted under a registered trust deed as a Public Charitable Trust. Objective of the Trust includes all permitted CSR activities under the Companies Act. The Company’s CSR activities are predominantly carried out through the Trust while there are few projects/ activities that the Company directly supports.
The Trust’s focus is on rural healthcare and it is progressing well towards establishing a state-of-the-art Hospital-cum-Diagnostic Center at No. 19, Chinnapuliyur Village, Sirupuzhalpettai (Post), Gummidipoondi Taluk, Tamil Nadu – 601 201. This Hospital is being constructed out of the CSR contributions from the Company and the land for construction of the Hospital has also been taken on long term lease from the Company.
While the Hospital-cum-Diagnostic center will predominantly serve the people located near the area of operations, it is also expected to serve people across Gummidippondi and surrounding areas. Advanced diagnostic equipments like mammogram are expected to help rural women in early diagnosis of conditions like breast cancer and other ailments, leading to treatment and eventual cure. The Hospital is expected to serve patients who need emergency care/ trauma care without losing the ‘Golden Hours’ after a stroke or other emergencies where the scope for saving a patient is the maximum if provided with timely and quality medical attention. Further, the Hospital will be served by a dedicated ambulance.
