Key Projects

Key Projects in Financial Year 2023-2024

Education:

Similar to previous years, we provided scholarships and grants this year to help numerous students pursue their higher education and professional development while also covering the salaries of government school teachers. We continued partnering with Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust. Additionally, we collaborated with Sai Ganesh Foundation this year, which is primarily dedicated to enhancing and improving the lives of special children who are impacted by autism and intellectual disabilities.

Health Care:

We continued to identify and support the medical needs of individuals who live near our area of operations. In addition, this year, we had given importance to Cancer treatment as we had sponsored the treatment of economically disadvantaged cancer patient. We also kept up our association with Shakthi Foundation which provides free eye camps to poor senior citizens and restore vision.

Eradicating Hunger:

We had supported the infrastructure development of an Annadhana Mandapam in Vallalar Arakkattalai who serve food free of cost to Sadhus and needy people as part of an everyday program which serves atleast 400 people every day.

Disaster Management:

The cyclonic storm Michaung hit Tamil Nadu in December 2023 impacting the livelihood of several people. In order to support the people affected by Michaung, we contributed to the Disaster Management Fund and we had also directly distributed groceries to the people at affected locations.

Promotion of Art:

We had supported Natya Sankalpaa which nurtures young artistes in the field of the traditional art form of Bharatanatyam.

Key Projects in Financial Year 2022-2023

Education:

We are committed to promoting education through a range of programs that meet the pressing needs of the disadvantaged while providing long-term advantages:

  • Scholarships and Grants: We have provided financial assistance to the most deserving students who are unable to carry on their studies due to lack of financial resources. Typically, these students come from a family background where the parents are unable to support their children’s education. We have sponsored the higher education and career advancement of such students in and around the area of our operations, especially in Gummidipoondi. Apart from aiding the educational needs of the students, we also support the government school teachers by incentivising them to contribute more to community development through sponsoring special teaching initiatives.
  • Partnerships with Educational Trusts: We collaborated with the following Trusts during the year by sponsoring specific projects and supporting initiatives:
    • Sadguru Sri Gnanananda Seva Trust which imparts vocational training to underprivileged youth, equipping them with skills and values for a better future;
    • Nammooru Educational and Social Trust which has established Namma Ooru Global Schools for providing quality education to the deserving poor students free of cost irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion;
    • Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust which helps in the education and upliftment of displaced Kashmiris.

Health Care:

We have been undertaking the following health care initiatives that would serve the medical needs of the people at the Bottom of the Pyramid:

  • Health Care supports to Individuals: We had Identified and supported poor patients so that they get quality medical treatment. Typically, these are the patients who reside nearer to our locations and who do not have access to good healthcare.
  • Supporting Community Health Trusts: We are one of the sponsors of ‘Chennai Runs’ conducted by MRT No.1 Charitable Trust which is a Charity Marathon that aims to raise money and awareness for the detection and treatment of Cancer in Children. We have also contributed to Shakthi Foundation which provides free eye camps to poor senior citizens and restore vision.
